Consumer Technology Association Recognizes Global Innovation Champions at CES 2025

LAS VEGAS – January 7, 2025 – At CES® 2025, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® unveiled the 2025 Global Innovation Scorecard, a comprehensive analysis of 74 countries and the European Union across 16 categories and 56 metrics. This biennial report evaluates political, economic, and demographic factors that foster innovation. The highest-ranking nations, designated as Innovation Champions, were celebrated during the State of the Industry keynote.

Recognizing Innovation Champions

Innovation Champions excel in areas such as broadband connectivity, support for autonomous vehicles, adoption of blockchain technologies, and fostering a skilled workforce. The honored countries reflect a strong collaboration between government and industry to create environments conducive to technological advancement. Representatives from these nations accepted their awards on stage:

  • Erkki Keldo, Minister of Economy and Industry, Estonia
  • Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, Ambassador of Finland to the United States
  • Dr. Volker Wissing, Federal Minister of Justice and Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, Germany
  • Dirk Beljaarts, Minister of Economic Affairs, The Netherlands
  • Ebba Busch, Minister for Energy, Business and Industry and Deputy Prime Minister, Sweden
  • Ralf Heckner, Ambassador of Switzerland to the United States

Innovation Champions for 2025 include: Australia, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States.

Driving Global Solutions

Recognizing Innovation Leaders

In addition to Innovation Champions, the Global Innovation Scorecard also identifies Innovation Leaders. These nations demonstrate strong policies in education, entrepreneurship, and investment in research and development, positioning them as emerging drivers of technological progress.

Innovation Leaders for 2025 include: Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, European Union, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
