The Expert Annual General Meeting 2025, held on the beautiful Terceira Island in the Azores, brought together Managing Directors, Board members, and partners from across the Expert Group for two days of strategic discussions, networking and celebration.
This year’s EAGM carried special significance. In addition to reviewing the latest market developments, digital initiatives, and the group’s continued progress in AI readiness, the meeting also served as a heartfelt farewell to our long-standing President of the Board, Mr. Ciarán O’Reilly, who retired after decades of extraordinary service to the Expert organisation.
Strategic Focus and Group Developments
The MD Meeting sessions provided valuable insights into current market trends, shifts in consumer electronics retail, and the strategic direction for the upcoming year. AI readiness remained a key topic, with discussions focused on how the group will continue adopting intelligent solutions to strengthen operational efficiency and customer engagement across all markets.
Participants also shared updates from their countries, highlighting opportunities, challenges and collaborative initiatives that will shape Expert’s collective growth in 2026 and beyond.
Honouring Ciarán O’Reilly
One of the most meaningful moments of this year’s gathering was the tribute to Ciarán O’Reilly.
Ciarán’s leadership has helped guide Expert International through periods of growth, transformation, and significant industry change. In his recent interview, he shared several insights that have shaped not only his career, but also the culture of the Expert organisation.
He highlighted the importance of working closely with retailers to deliver the best possible service to consumers, noting that staying focused on customer value has always been a driving force in his daily work.
Reflecting on leadership, he emphasised trust, delegation, and strong teamwork:
“Be very open to delegate and trust people to do a good job… We are in a results business, so once the result is on point, all other aspects of the business should be enjoyable.”
The choice of Terceira Island as the EAGM destination fulfilled one of his farewell wishes, making the event even more personal.
A Gathering to Remember
EAGM 2025 successfully combined strategic dialogue, cross-country collaboration and meaningful celebration. The event not only reinforced Expert’s commitment to innovation and group development, but also paid tribute to a leader whose legacy continues to influence the organisation’s direction.
