On April 16, Samsung Electronics premiered the exhibition at Milan Design Week 2024, captivating visitors with a glimpse into a harmonious future envisioned by Samsung Design. Running until April 21, the exhibition, inspired by Samsung’s Design Identity 5.0: Essential・Innovative・Harmonious, invites attendees to explore a digital realm where humanity and technology coexist in perfect balance.
Hosted at Le Cavallerizze within the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology, the exhibition takes advantage of a space that seamlessly blends historic architecture with modern design. Bathed in natural light streaming through arched windows, the venue boasts high ceilings, textured walls, and evenly spaced rooms.
Upon entering the first exhibition space , guests encountered five translucent cubes in which irregular forms of light appeared to freely float through space. Synchronized to accompanying music, the movement within the cubes symbolized the timeless, fundamental values of happiness, love and peace.
Transitioning to the second space, ‘Innovative’, visitors encounter a 98-inch display that responds to their movements. As guests approach, the forms on the screen become clearer, blurring when they step away. This interactive experience showcases the evolving contours of a hopeful future through dynamic visuals and textures.
In ‘Harmonius’, the third space, large LED displays outside the windows showcase strange forms that interact with the environment, blurring the lines between reality and hyperreality. Here, guests are transported to a future where humanity and technology coexist seamlessly, inviting them to envision the possibilities of a harmonious future.
Next, visitors step into ‘Infinite Dream’ , where a surreal landscape unfolds before them through a combination of projections, displays, and mirrors. This immersive space represents the culmination of ‘Newfound Equilibrium’, offering a glimpse into a world where the physical and virtual realms converge.
Finally, guests returned to the real world in ‘New Dawning’ , the final exhibition space. Visitors met giant totems of Bespoke products, a collaboration with the artisanship of ceramic masters MUTINA and wood veneer wizard ALPI. Through ‘Newfound Equilibrium’, the Samsung Design philosophy brought the intersection between people and their technology to life — marrying modern aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship and letting audiences experience the world of today and tomorrow simultaneously.
