Expert Stores South Africa: Making a Difference in the Community with CSR Activities

Expert Stores South Africa is not just any ordinary retail store. They are dedicated to making a difference in the communities they serve by engaging in various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. From donating to charitable organisations to supporting important global events, Expert Stores is making a positive impact.

One of their most significant initiatives is Expert Cares, which was established to support various charitable organisations in South Africa. Through Expert Cares, Expert Stores has donated to various organisations that are dedicated to education, healthcare, and community development. They have also partnered with organisations such as the 16 Days of Activism campaign partnering with UN Women and pledged to donate to their nominated partner organisations.

The Sweethearts Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to uplift the lives of less fortunate people in our communities. Our mission is to provide wheelchairs to those who need them most to give them independence and be an invaluable member of their community.

Expert Stores SA has been a proud contributor to the Sweethearts Foundation, through collecting tops and tags in their head office to help them achieve their goals. In 2022, they managed to collect around 30 KG’s worth of tops and tags!

Expert Stores SA has also supported Lesedi Day Care Centre with donations of appliances and daily sandwich drive, which aims to provide nutritious meals to children in need.

Expert Stores has partnered with the Lesedi Day Care Centre to provide sandwiches for the children in their care. The sandwich drive is a regular initiative, and Expert Stores is committed to supporting it by providing bread, fillings, and other ingredients.

Last year, we supported the children with food, toy and book drives and helped them go on their zoo trip!

The Ithlokohmeleng Old Age Home is a non-profit organisation that provides residential care for elderly and disabled people in need. Expert Stores SA has supported the home by donating heaters, a washing machine and a stove to help improve the living conditions of the residents. These donations are particularly important during the colder months, as they help to keep the residents warm and comfortable.

The Little Angels Pre-School is a non-profit organisation that provides early childhood education and care to children in underprivileged communities. Expert Stores SA has been involved with the school on a monthly basis since 2017, providing financial support to help them continue their important work. The school is run by a remarkable woman named Valerie, who is known for her compassion and dedication to the children in her care.

Expert Stores SA is also launching a new initiative called the #BeTheChange EcoBrick project. EcoBricks are plastic bottles that are packed tightly with non-biodegradable waste, such as plastic bags and wrappers.

These EcoBricks can then be used to build furniture, garden walls, and other structures. The #BeTheChange EcoBrick project aims to promote sustainability by encouraging staff to make EcoBricks and donate them to the organisations that Expert Cares supports. This project will be launching soon and will be a game changer for Expert Cares.
