On March 18, POWER opened its store number 127 – this time in Tromsø.
The POWER store, our partner from Norway, is located in Northern Norway’s largest shopping center, Jekta, and is a full 2000 square meters.
A large opening party in the POWER spirit was planned, but infection control considerations meant that POWER Tromsø chose to postpone the party and rather have a quiet opening of the new store.
And despite a subdued celebration, department store manager Lars Hagerup was very pleased with the Tromsø residents’ reception of POWER.
– It was a fantastic opening with many visitors, and we could not have been happier. Both customers and employees were good at ensuring safety with a bandage and a good distance, says Hagerup, who has a background from, among others, Expert and Rusta.
Good start to 2021
POWER has, despite closed stores in several places in the country, had a good start to the new year.
– Running a store during a pandemic is a daily challenge, but we have become well used to turning around quickly, being creative, and finding good solutions for our customers so that they can shop what they need even if some of the stores are occasionally closed. Customers have also begun to get used to new ways of shopping, such as Click & Collect and Drive-Thru, says Power’s communications manager, Siri Røhr-Staff.
