“Our minds, our rights”
World Mental Health Day was established in 1992 and since then, October 10th has been an opportunity for all people to come together to inform, raise awareness, and promote actions that promote and protect the mental health of all of us.
This year’s focus is establishing mental health as a universal human right, that’s why this year’s motto is: “Mental health is a universal human right”!
It is important to spread this year’s message! Everyone, wherever they are, has a right to the highest possible level of mental health. This includes the right to protection from mental health risks, the right to available, accessible, acceptable, and good quality care, but also the right of people with a mental illness to freedom, independence, and community integration.
Good mental health is vital to our overall health and well-being. However, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) one in eight people worldwide lives with conditions related to mental health, which can affect their physical health, their well-being, and the way they communicate and interact with their fellow human beings and their means of subsistence.
The mental health of our employees is the number one area that concerns us at Expert Hellas. For a company to function harmoniously, it is important that EVERY ONE of us feels safe and calm in our workplace.
For this reason, Mr. Malainos Panagiotis, PhD MSc clinical psychologist visited their offices and spoke to about the phenomenon of Burnout.
“Burnout” is a term used by mental health professionals to describe the feeling of long-term exhaustion, accompanied by decreased interest, mainly related to the workplace. It is used as a slang term since burnout is also translated as exhaustion.
